Smith led the country with a record 17.3 strikeouts per nine innings and was second in strikeouts (161), fourth in ERA (2.04), and seventh in walks and hits per innings pitched (WHIP) with a 0.89 average. He is also a finalist for the prestigious Golden Spikes Award.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named Arkansas ace pitcher Hagen Smith as a first-team All-American for the second year running.

He also was named the Pitcher of the Year by Perfect Game.

Smith, a consensus All-American in 2023, becomes the fifth two-time All-American in program history. He joins fellow former Razorback pitchers Phillip Stidham (1990-91), David Walling (1998-99) and Nick Schmidt (2006-2007) as the only pitchers in Arkansas history to garner multiple All-America honors.

Smith made a strong case as the best pitcher in college baseball.

Smith went 9-2 over 16 starts, pitching 84 innings and totaling 161 strikeouts while maintaining a 2.04 ERA.

In conference play? There wasn't a more dominant force than Smith. Smith's ERA dropped to 1.35 in conference play as he went 7-0 in 60 innings across 10 SEC starts.

Smith led the country with an NCAA-record 17.3 strikeouts per nine innings and finished first nationally in hits allowed per nine innings.

He was (4.4), second in strikeouts (161), fourth in ERA (2.04), and seventh in walks and hits per innings pitched (WHIP) with a 0.89 average.

This year, Smith became the Hogs' all-time strikeout king with 360 K's in his career. He overtook Schmidt (345) for the career marks, and he also overtook Walling's single-season strikeout record of 155, as Smith notched 161.

Smith is also a finalist for the prestigious Golden Spikes Award. The winner will be announced at 7 p.m. Eastern time on June 22 on ESPN before Game 1 of the College World Series finals.

The Bullard, Texas, native was also named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy
