Entergy Arkansas Employees Empowered To Help Neighbors in Need

Entergy Arkansas employees have been empowered to contribute to the needs of their local communities in order to help those suffering from hunger-relief efforts. In the past month alone, Entergy Arkansas has directed $30,000 to hunger-related efforts statewide, following employees' requests. In Drew County, a local food program serving 156 senior citizens and disabled residents was temporarily halted due to a relocation of a distribution site during the recent federal government shutdown. Customer Service Manager Amanda Killingsworth mobilized support from co-workers and over 2,600 people on Facebook to sponsor a month of food for $60 per recipient. The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance has also been working to keep shelves stocked at its six regional food banks and over 500 community partners during months when many Arkansans were not receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The company's investment strengthened the Alliance's statewide network and ensured rural communities, seniors, and families have access to healthy food and emergency support.
