The Root Cafe in Little Rock, Arkansas, hosted its fifth annual Farmer Trunk or Treat event on Sunday. The event included free candy, face painting, bubble-blowing, story time and coloring stations. Guests also had a chance to meet with Arkansas farms such as Whispering Willow Farms, Rabbit Ridge Farms and Driftwood Farms. Cafe owner Jack Sundell said he was excited to create a space where people could directly meet farmers. The cafe, which opened in 2011, continues to source locally from farms in Central Arkansas. Other participating groups included the Arkansas Local Food Network, SoMa 501, the Dunbar Garden and the St. Joseph Center of Arkansas.
